August First Friday

August First Friday is canceled.

Due to the continuing need to contain the Coronavirus, First Friday is canceled once again.

Yes, we’re tired of cooking too. And we’re still trying to perfect the sourdough thing... And we are definitely tired of cleaning up the kitchen afterwards! But, alas, we still can’t have our First Friday. Not yet…

We are feeling healthier for all this home-cooking though. However, for a change of routine, we are venturing out to restaurants for curbside dining on Abbot Kinney on occasion and take-out is in the rotation now too. And hopefully, we’ll be able to order and pick up some of our favorite AK Food Truck meals soon!

We want to see you all on the Blvd again soon so we hope you’re staying the course and protecting yourself and others. Stay well, wear a mask, wash your hands, eat healthy immunity-building food. We’ll give you a pass on the messy kitchen…

Need a virtual escape from current events?

After you’ve caught up with all your streaming favorites, how about some virtual art, history and travel adventures while waiting for the world to turn right side up?

Context Travel usually leads small group tours around the globe but they’ve transitioned into online seminars and courses spanning many interests and locations.

You can visit WW2 Berlin, Revolutionary France and the palaces of St. Petersburg. Explore the talents of Picasso or Satchmo, the scandal of The Dryfus Affair, the serenity of a Zen Garden, the history of slavery during the American Revolution, the ritual of English High Tea, and many more stimulating topics.

They even offer seminars specifically geared toward kids.

Check out the full list here.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone. We hope to see you in September.
