From making wax carvings on her kitchen table, Sofia’s gem-filled dreams evolved into soulful designs, into a prolific body of work, evolved into a wholesale business, a showroom, a retail jewelry boutique and a brand.
Kaman opened her first retail store in 2008 on Abbot Kinney Blvd. Sofia knew from the start that Venice was the best location to center her flagship boutique. Creative, quirky, ever-changing, soulful …all these qualities describe this artistic hub of busy Los Angeles, and so too what she and her jewelry are all about. The store provided Sofia with the ultimate testing ground for launching new designs and new potentials for her growing company.
Sofia was recognized for her designs from her debut in the 2005 JCK show as a Rising Star, one of the most prestigious accolades in the industry. Kaman was named as one of the Top 10 "Designers to Watch" by InDesign magazine in 2009, and her pieces have won the coveted COUTURE jewelry awards both in 2010 and 2011.
Her designs have been seen on the golden screen and have been featured on the pages of fashion magazines such as In Style, Lucky, Glamour, WWD, People as well as numerous jewelry trade magazines.

Sofia Kamen offers a curated selection of unique, sometimes quirky, and always beautiful vintage, estate and antique pieces, rooted with a deep sentiment. Some of these rare pieces have been re-worked to create a more contemporary wear-ability. The Curated Vintage pieces date back to the Georgian and Victorian periods as well as Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Deco, and Retro.
