March First Friday
/It’s March already?
Well, we suppose time marches on… As you know, our little pocket of the universe marches to a different tune and we’ve got Abbot Kinney First Friday to prove it.
Four impressive new trucks are in the lineup this month: two for meat lovers, one for vegans, one for both! We’re sure at least one of them will become your new fave.
The Steamin’ Burger Truck is now in LA
Beginning just this month, LA has the 1st and only Stuffed Steamed Burger Truck in the World. (Much to the chagrin of San Francisco where they’ve been running successfully since 2014.) And we’re happy to welcome them to Abbot Kinney First Friday.
Their Steamed Cheeseburgers are a healthier, tastier alternative to regular burgers because they’re cooked with steam, with no added oil. Using grass-fed ground beef, turkey and chicken, burgers are served covered with steamed sharp cheddar cheese on a fresh Brioche bun.
5 Elementos for Vegans and their Meat-eating Friends
Promoting what they call the "vegan first, protein friendly" model, 5 Elementos serves organic Mexican dishes with all menu options beginning as vegan dishes, to which you can add your choice of healthy animal or vegan proteins.
Their organic ingredients are from local farms to ensure freshness and quality, as well as to support our local farmers.
An Authentic Philly Steak from Philly Jay
Philly Jay’s truck is joining us for the first time with the message that it’s time for California to experience what Philadelphia has been enjoying for so long: a truly authentic Philly Cheesesteak. They offer the classic cheesesteak as well as enticing variations with mushrooms, pizza marinara sauce, sweet peppers and more.
And Jay throws in free fries with your steak for college students, military, law enforcement and firefighters. Just show your ID.
Help Feed the World via the Vegan Soup Goddess Truck
They have one mission at Soup Goddess and that is to Feed the World! For every bowl of their delicious, healthful soup sold, they give a bowl of soup to those in need.
Expanding from their Burbank restaurant, the Soup Goddess truck offers vegan soups, salads, wraps and sandwiches. This is the time of year for comfort soups and you’re sure to find comfort in their many varieties including Mushroom, Red Pepper, Broccoli, Butternut Squash, Lentil and more.
You’ve got your marching orders: join your fellow foodies and kick off your weekend by enjoying the diverse food, people and shops on Abbot Kinney.
We’ll see you on the Blvd!
